Scientific interests
I am primarily interested in understanding the molecular mechanisms in pain generation. Currently I am working on the role of inflammatory mediators and neuropeptides in lower back pain and degenerated intervertebral discs. I am also interested in studying neuroinflammatory pathways mediated through microglia and the role of alpha7 nicotinic receptors in anti-inflammatory mechanisms.
