Scientific interests:
I am a molecular biologist with a special interest in neuroimaging and in vivo pharmacology. My primary research area is using simultaneous PET/MR (also called hybrid PET/MR) to functionally characterize novel and existing drugs for the serotonergic system. This technique allows for the characterization of the brain network effects of these drugs, which gives us valuable mechanistic insight into the therapeutic effects of these drugs.
Alongside my preclinical and clinical projects, I am also involved in various projects concerning the more advanced data analysis of these PET/MR scans.
My work also involves collaborating with medicinal chemists and radiochemists to develop new PET radiotracers for various targets in the central nervous system. These PET radiotracers are valuable tools in the drug development process.Biography:
