As a Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist, my research has focused on exploring the association of the serotonergic system with neurodevelopment from prenatal stages through to adolescence. This work is part of my PhD project within the Generation R Study, a prospective birth cohort study based in Rotterdam, the Netherlands. My primary research examines the relationship between prenatal exposure to serotonin reuptake inhibitors and maternal depressive symptoms, and how these factors influence offspring neurodevelopment. I am particularly interested in neuroimaging studies to investigate these associations.

For an upcoming academic secondment, I will be joining Prof. Vibe Frokjaer's research team at the NRU to investigate the brain volumetric distribution of serotonin-coupled clusters using the NRU 5-HT Atlas in the Generation R Study. This study is supported by the Serotonin & BEYOND grant (https://www.serotonin-and-beyond-project.eu/).
